Prince's Trust Awards 2018
Some of you might remember that last year I had the incredible honour of being a finalist at the Prince’s Trust Awards, where I got to be interviewed by the nicest people in the world, Tom and Gi Fletcher!
The whole day at the London Palladium was wonderful. I got to hear all about the incredible work the Prince’s Trust does, and meet some of the brilliant people who have achieved such amazing things since being involved with the Trust. A real highlight was getting to meet the other Enterprise Award finalists, Gracie and Katie (who deservedly won the award!), two brilliant, kind and talented women who deserve all the success they are having.
This year, I was invited to attend the awards in London again. This time in my role as an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust - something I am incredibly proud to do. The awards were hosted again by Ant and Dec and included, alongside Prince Charles, Tom Hardy, Olivia Colman, Tom Jones and Bryan Cranston!
Even more importantly, half of Team BearHugs was in attendance too! I went to the awards with BearHugs' very own Sian and Lyndsey. Anyone who has had any contact with BearHugs knows how important these two are to everything that BearHugs does. I was incredibly proud to be able to sit alongside them at the awards this year. I felt very emotional throughout the whole day. Just one year ago BearHugs was just me. Now there are 6 of us making up Team BearHugs. It really made me realise how far things have come for BearHugs over the last 12 months!
At the awards, we were particularly moved by Jack Hamblett's story and Tom Rebair's amazing speech about how the Prince's Trust gave him the confidence to speak out about mental health and eating disorders.
The Prince’s Trust really do carry out incredible work that makes a huge difference in so many people’s lives, not just my own. I can’t thank them enough and am so happy to be able to give back in a tiny way through my work as an ambassador. I’m also incredibly grateful to Sian and Lyndsey (and all of Team BearHugs!) for everything they do to help make BearHugs what it is.
P.S Our wonderful friend Sorrel of Dandelion Cocoa provided chocolates for the bloggers room at the awards, and we were pleased to see everyone loved her chocolate just as much as we do!
