Catching up with charity partner Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
As part of our donation scheme, we regularly donate personalised hug-in-a-box gifts through our four charity partners.
One of those partners is Bluebell Wood, a beautiful place which supports children with life shortening conditions and their families.
Every month our wonderful Hug Donation Assistant Georgina designs 10 personalised hugs for children and families of Bluebell Wood.
Last Thursday I popped across for a cuppa with Emma, Head of Family Support and Wellbeing and Miriam in Communications at the hospice. It was no suprise that both were incredibly kind and warm and I had the best time chatting with them.
As when Sian and I went before the atmosphere was positive and uplifting. It's such a magical place with beautiful toys everywhere for the children.
It was really lovely to have the opportunity to catch up on how our donation of gift boxes has been working out. It was amazing to hear how well received the hugs have been and extra special to speak to one lovely mum personally. I felt very emotional when she told me how much the hug she had received meant to her. She commented on how thoughtful the gift was which was further confirmation of what an absolutely incredible job Georgina does in choosing items for the gifts. So thank you so so much Georgina.
So far we’ve sent hugs to parents of Bluebell Wood children, grandparents of Bluebell Wood children, Bluebell Wood children themselves and people who cooked Christmas dinner for Bluebell Wood families. This month we’re sending hugs to children who had to spend time in hospital over Christmas.
Thank you so much to anyone who orders our gifts and makes our donation scheme possible, it really does mean so much.
Big hugs always,
-Faye, Chief Sender of Hugs
