Cub Hugs as Table Party Favours!
Post written by Hug Outreach Assistant, Laura.
Before I became a team member at BearHugs, I was a very keen and happy customer (and a self-proclaimed number one fan!). I looked forward to any occasion that meant I could send a BearHug. I loved the values surrounding the company and the gifts that I could personalise and choose specifically for a loved-one and to match the occasion. The thing that I loved most was my loved-one’s reactions to receiving their hug in the post - it made me feel all fuzzy inside at the thought that I had brightened their day in some way.
Fast forward a couple of years and I have built up quite the list of reasons as to why I have sent a BearHug!... Birthdays, Engagements, as a ‘Get well soon’, as a thank you for a previous colleague who wrote my reference for my BearHugs position, a prize for a treasure hunt, a thinking of you gift for friends going through a tough time, sending a ‘cuppa and cake’ in the post when I couldn’t make it in person, for friends with new home’s, for Mother’s Day, for Father’s Day, for Valentines gifts for my Grandparents, welcoming new babies to the world, as a ‘Thank you’ to a friend who visited me on holiday and to create a toy box for a friend’s niece and nephew.
Last, but not least (and my favourite reason for sending a BearHug so far), was very recently for table party favours at my sister-in-laws family hen do!
I was in charge of table decor, games and gifts (this is a little piece of organisational heaven for me!). I made sure every person invited would receive a Cub Hug (a mini BearHug), with a small gift to remind them of the afternoon tea we were attending. I chose a mini chocolate and honeycomb bar by the wonderful Dandelion Cocoa (I had tasted their chocolate before and knew I was on to a winner!), accompanied by a personal message showing my thanks to everyone that came and made it so special for my sister-in-law. It made the loveliest gesture of appreciation, especially when many family members had travelled from afar.
The Cub Hugs were also used as place name settings by simply writing names on each box. They were then saved until the end for the grand reveal - and they did not disappoint! I wish I could have recorded every person opening their Cub Hug, as everyone’s reaction was so lovely, with lots of ‘ooos’ and ‘ahhs’. They made such a nice touch to the afternoon and were a hit! I will definitely be using Cub Hugs for future events, the tough part is choosing what to put in them from so many gorgeous options!
