Vegan Gift Box Ideas
We were really happy to see that BearHugs was included on AmeriDisability’s recent 20 Exceptional Mother’s Day Gifts for Moms with and without disabilities.

We are really grateful to Nancy, the author of the post, for including BearHugs in her thorough and thought-out list of tips and suggestions. For the perfect treat for Mums, Nancy recommends our Mama Bear CubHug.

A Roundtable Discussion at Westminster
A year ago, we welcomed Project Parent - a social enterprise supporting parents and carers of children and young people with chronic illnesses and disabilities - to the BearHugs family as a new charity partner in our 1:50 Hug Donation scheme. In our 12 month partnership with Project Parent, we received nominations from so many kind people who wanted to send a little BearHugs treat to a wonderful carer.
BearHugs' Top Tips for Writing Wonderful Job Applications
Today I was invited by UnLtd (a fab organisation supporting us at the mo) to Westminster to take part in a roundtable discussion about how social entrepreneurs can be best supported to bridge the disability employment gap. It was great that the conversation was framed not only around the barriers to people wanting to help people with disabilities into work but also the potential solutions.
Blind CVs and BearHugs Vacancies
With the quality of the applications being so high for our most recent role, the difference between some people being offered an interview and others not ended up coming down to the tiniest things. With this in mind, I’ve put together a few of my top tips for writing wonderful job applications! They may not be 100% watertight for applications for other organisations, but if you’re ever thinking of applying for a job at BearHugs, they’ll definitely be worth bearing in mind!

As some of you may be aware, today is the closing day for applications for the position of Sender of Hugs here at BearHugs.

Vegan Easter Gifts
The wonderful Jordyn of The Chronically Unimaginable has written a lovely new post about BearHugs.
We really loved how much Jordyn got exactly what BearHugs was about - writing about the BearHugs story, accessible employment, and of course our BearHugs boxes!
“I’ve seen that there are many people who follow me who do not directly have a chronic illness, but maybe you know someone who does. I want to give everyone the opportunity to know about what BearHugs is doing.”
We are really grateful to Jordyn for taking the time to write such a lovely post about BearHugs and letting her followers know about us and what we do.

Cub Hugs as Table Party Favours!
Have you been looking to have the perfect chocolatey Easter gift box delivered to someone special in your life?
For a lot of people, Easter is a great excuse to enjoy a whole lot of chocolate. But what if you want to give someone (or yourself!) something a bit more exciting and personal than a standard supermarket Easter egg?
We're hiring! Would you like to be a Sender of Hugs here at BearHugs?
I was in charge of table decor, games and gifts (this is a little piece of organisational heaven for me!). I made sure every person invited would receive a Cub Hug (a mini BearHug), with a small gift to remind them of the afternoon tea we were attending. I chose a mini chocolate and honeycomb bar by the wonderful Dandelion Cocoa (I had tasted their chocolate before and knew I was on to a winner!), accompanied by a personal message showing my thanks to everyone that came and made it so special for my sister-in-law. It made the loveliest gesture of appreciation, especially when many family members had travelled from afar.

A couple of weeks ago my lovely BearHugs-mobile ‘Little Blue’ was stolen after our house was burgled. While it was very annoying and has created a lot of admin, noone was hurt, I have insurance and in a few months time probably won’t think about it at all.
What it has brought to light though is some seriously incredible loveliness that I definitely won’t forget. If you need a little reminder that people are inherently good, here’s a little list of kindnesses I’ve felt beyond lucky for in the last few weeks...
