Location: Sheffield (BearHugs, Unit 1, 18 Stalker Walk, S11 8NF)

Contract type: 3 month probationary period: Zero hour contract at £9 per hour. After 3 month probationary period: 12 months fixed term contract.

Salary: £5616 per annum

Hours: 12 hours per week (Monday: 08:30 - 12:30; Wednesday: 12:30 - 16:30; Thursday: 12:30 - 16:30)

BearHugs is a social enterprise which sells a range of hug-in-a-box gift hampers, designed to send all the warmth and comfort of a hug through the post. Team BearHugs consists of our office staff, based at The BearHub in Sheffield, and our Team BearHugs members who work remotely from home.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to assist with the day-to-day running of BearHugs, ensuring the efficient distribution of our hug-in-a-box gift hampers and providing an excellent standard of customer care at all times.

About you

This role will require you to have the following skills, abilities and personal attributes:

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and write

  • Confidence working with computers 

  • Confidence in learning to use computer systems you have not encountered before

  • Confidence speaking on the telephone

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Ability to adopt our brand’s tone of voice in written communications

  • Confidence uploading content to Instagram stories

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • Ability to see a task, enquiry or problem through to completion and resolution

  • Ability to work well within a team

  • Ability to work on initiative and manage own workload

  • Ability to respond appropriately and empathetically in sensitive situations

  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • Ability to use hands to affix labels and package products

  • Ability to physically lift and carry goods up to 10kg when unloading supplier deliveries and picking orders from shelves

About the BearHub

The BearHub, our friendly office space, is conveniently located close to Ecclesall Road in Sheffield. Free parking is available on site. We share our building with Bright Futures Consultancy, a start-up business which shares our values. Please note that Ruby, the very friendly Border Collie office dog, joins us most days and is always on standby for cuddles. BearHugs’ mascot, Teddy the cairn terrier, is occasionally around too!
