Our Visit to No. 10 Downing Street for a Disability Confident Roundtable

Have you ever had one of those ‘pinch yourself’ moments, where you ask ‘Did that really happen?’ - well Faye (our lovely Chief Sender of Hugs) and I experienced just that, after attending a meeting at 10 Downing Street last November!

Review on Page to Stage : Highlights from the Bloggers Festival 2017

Zarina of Page to Stage Reviews, a blog about books, travel, arts and culture, has written a blog post on her highlights from the 2017 Bloggers Festival - and very kindly included BearHugs in her list.

The bloggers festival was put together by Scarlett London, and Zarina wrote about a few of the favourite brands she came across on the day.

Zarina had some very kind words to say about BearHugs. After explaining that one of the best things about these kind of events is discovering brands she might otherwise have never come across and that “one of my favourite this time around was BearHugs.

Cancer Research UK Unity Bands for World Cancer Day

Like many people, the BearHugs team has first-hand experience of how difficult it is when a loved one is fighting cancer, and we feel honoured that many of our customers trust BearHugs enough to send BearHugs gifts to their loved ones going through these tough times.

So when we were approached by Cancer Research UK about the Unity Band, we were more than happy to join the campaign.

BearHugs Founder, Faye, Is Speaker at Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Event

Yesterday I was honoured to be asked to speak at a Chamber of Commerce Women in Business event. Jill White, who recently received an Athena Award for all she does to empower others, spoke about the importance of supporting other women. I couldn't agree with her sentiments more and loved meeting so many inspiring women who felt the same way. The fact that it was over afternoon tea in the beautiful Wentworth Castle Gardens was even lovelier.

Prince's Trust 40th Anniversary Celebrations: #partofPT tour in Leeds

This year the Prince's Trust is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary. Having accessed their Enterprise Programme and received support to launch my business BearHugs, I was very excited to take part in the celebrations. I got involved by joining the #partofPT tour when it stopped in Leeds city centre on 20th April.

I felt very proud to represent the Prince's Trust and loved talking about my entirely positive experience with their programme. I took along lots of BearHugs freebies and it was a pleasure to hand them out to people dropping by the #partofPT airstream. I set up alongside fellow Enterprise Programme user, Natalia who runs Pura Panela. I counted myself very lucky to have access to plenty of samples of her delicious drinks Cafe Campesino, Gurapo and Canelazo throughout the day.

BearHugs at Sheffield Virgin Media Offices

My friend Stu and I took BearHugs to its first market today and had the loveliest time. Thank you so much to everyone at Virgin Media who came to say hello!

I've come a long way in terms of my health in the last year and it meant the world to me that I was able to run my little stall. I could not be more grateful to Stu for all his help.
