I was proud to represent The Prince’s Trust as a Young Ambassador at the Vantage Motor Group Charity Dinner this week. It was one of those evenings that leaves you feeling incredibly grateful. Not just for the opportunity to be there, but for how the Trust has supported me and so many others too.
For those who might not know, The Prince’s Trust (now The King’s Trust) is a UK charity founded in 1976 to support young people who are facing challenges with education, employment or confidence. Through mentoring, funding and training programmes, it helps young people build skills, start businesses and create brighter futures for themselves . It’s genuinely life-changing support, and I’m a real example of that.
The Trust has played a huge part in BearHugs becoming what it is today. So any chance I get to lend a hand, share my story, and hopefully inspire someone else to take that first step in supporting the Trust, I’ll always say yes.
I was honoured to be asked to speak at the dinner, just before Gordon Strachan who I then had the chance to chat with over dinner. It was one of those moments that felt both surreal and genuinely lovely, a reminder of how these events can bring together people from all walks of life.
Evenings like this are such a powerful reminder of the impact that kindness, opportunity and support can have. One of the things I love about the support that The Prince’s Trust offers is that it helps people believe in themselves again, which is often where everything begins.
I’ll always be incredibly thankful for the role it’s played in my journey, and the fact I get to send hugs as my day job. I'm proud to continue supporting its work in any way I can.
