We're very happy to share some exciting news: BearHugs has been named in Canva's Top 100 UK Small Businesses.
Canva's Small Business Pitch Challenge invited small businesses across the UK and Ireland to pitch their story using Canva's own design tools, which we happen to use all the time as it is! Out of every entry submitted, our pitch to develop our "hug in a box" gifting concept made the cut into the Top 100.
Where BearHugs Started
BearHugs began in 2015, after founder, Faye, was diagnosed with Lyme disease. During a difficult stretch of illness, a simple, thoughtful package from a friend arrived in the post and it made all the difference. That small gesture became the seed for a business built around one idea: sending comfort, warmth, and a virtual hug to someone who needs it, wherever they are.
Today, BearHugs creates hand-packed gift hampers to say Thinking of You, Get Well Soon, Happy Birthday, and Here For You, each one designed to open into a pair of outstretched arms. We also build corporate gifting programmes for businesses who want to show real appreciation to clients, employees, or partners. And true to our roots, we're committed to creating meaningful, flexible work for people living with energy-limiting chronic illness and other long-term conditions.
